According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in November this year Turkey's foreign trade deficit increased by 232.2 percent to $2.23 billion compared to November 2018. In the first 11 months of the current year, Turkey's foreign trade deficit fell by 48.8 percent year on year to $26.8 billion.
In November, Turkey's iron and steel exports ranked seventh among the country's products with the highest export value, totaling $649.29 million, decreasing by 47.7 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given month the value of exports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked ninth among the products with the highest export value, decreased by 9.8 percent year on year, amounting to $570.46 million.
In the first 11 months of the year, Turkey's iron and steel export value decreased by 12.2 percent to $9.18 billion, while the value of its exports of articles of iron or steel decreased by 1.7 percent to $5.9 billion, both year on year.
