Trump hints at possible ceasefire in trade war between China and US

Bloomberg has reported that US President Donald Trump has asked his cabinet members to draw up a potential deal with China to signal a ceasefire in an escalating trade conflict.

“Just had a long and very good conversation with President Xi Jinping of China. We talked about many subjects, with a heavy emphasis on trade. Those discussions are moving along nicely with meetings being scheduled at the G-20 in Argentina,” Trump tweeted on November 1.

According to media reports, Asian stocks jumped on Friday, November 2 on the hopes of a possible ceasefire in the trade war between the US and China.
