Toyota plans to increase production in Thailand

According to the statement made by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), the company is planning to increase production capacity in its automobile production and sales company Toyota Motor Thailand Co. Ltd. (TMT). For the capacity expansion plan, a new plant will be built in the outskirts of the Bangkok Metropolitan area for Yen 41 billion (around $383 million). The new plant, which will be operational in 2007, will have an annual capacity of 100'000 units. In addition, Toyota will increase the production capacity of its Gateway Plant from the current 110'000 to 200'000 vehicles by 2006.
