Tonghua’s 100mm billet continuous caster yields 250%

In 2004, the 100mm billet continuous caster in Tonghua Steel’s No.2 steelmaking plant churned out 298’000 tons of product. The total output amounts to a 250% yield based on the caster’s 120’000 ton design capability. In addition, 99.97% of the caster’s 2004 output met quality control standards.
