TMK-Resita installs new billet caster

TMK-Resita, Romanian subsidiary of the Russian pipe producer TMK Group, has put into operation a new continuous billet caster with annual capacity of 450,000 metric tons of high quality continuously cast billets. The new caster is able to produce 340x260 mm bloom and round billets with cross sections of 250 and 280 mm. Round billets with cross section of 180mm are expected to be produced at the new caster in the second half of 2007.
