The Russian steel pipe producer TMK has announced that it has successfully completed the certification for compliance of its large diameter (LD) steel pipes made from Russian rolled steel products with the DNV-OS-F101 standard for offshore pipelines.
According to TMK's statement, the receipt of this certification was the result of collaboration with MMK, Russia's largest producer of flat steel products for LD steel pipes, for the development of modern high-tech production of steel pipes for the construction and operation of offshore pipelines.
Previously, TMK received the DNV certificate for steel pipes produced only from imported steels. The new DNV certificate, will allow TMK to widen its opportunities for participation in offshore pipeline projects, by replacing expensive imports with steel pipes made from Russian steel.
