In the first quarter of the current year, Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (TISCO) exported 142,000 mt of stainless steel products (produced by its subsidiary Taigang Stainless Steel Co.), up 92.7 percent year on year, as announced by local newspaper Shanxi Daily. In particular, its wide cold rolled steel sheet and 400 series stainless steel sheet both saw significant increases in export volumes. The improved export performance was mainly attributed to rising market demand.
