TISCO increases hot metal production

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) announced plans to boost hot metal production at six of its blast furnaces in an effort to compensate for the loss of production from the G blast furnace, which has been closed since December 2004 as it undergoes renovation. Once the G blast furnace becomes operational, it will add 1.88 million tons to the company's annual hot metal production. Until then TISCO will increase the capacities of the A-F furnaces to compensate.
