TISCO announced robust profits for fiscal 2005

India's second largest steelmaker Tata Iron & Steel Co Ltd (TISCO) reported a net profit Rupee 34.74 billion ($799.5 million) for the March 2005 ended fiscal year, doubling from Rupee 17.46 billion of the previous financial year. The total income of the company increased 35% year on year to Rupee 146.46 billion. The company's net profit in January – March 2005 increased 44.5% year on year to Rupee 9.08 billion, and the total income increased 20% to Rupee 38.94 billion. TISCO's board recommended a dividend of Rupee 13 per share for the March-ended fiscal year.
