TISCO achieves record finished steel output in 2012

Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (TISCO) has announced that in 2012 it achieved a record annual finished steel output amounting to 10.15 million mt, up 2.52 percent year on year, including 3.1 million mt of stainless, up 2.65 percent year on year. TISCO has the biggest stainless steel production capacity in the world.
 
In addition, in 2012 TISCO achieved an operating revenue of RMB 140.5 billion ($22.5 billion), increasing by 10.63 percent year on year, while its net profit reached RMB 400 million ($64.1 million). In 2011, TISCO had recorded a finished steel output of 9.9 million mt, including 3.02 million mt of stainless steel, with an operating revenue of RMB 127 billion ($20.4 billion).
