ThyssenKrupp sets up service company in Russia

On April 2, Dusseldorf-based German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp AG announced that its ThyssenKrupp Services division has started to set up a subsidiary in Russia, named ThyssenKrupp Industrial Services Russia, headquartered in St. Petersburg, as of April 1, 2009.

Accordingly, the subsidiary in question will enable the company's services division to expand its worldwide industrial services for its customers in chemical, petrochemical, construction, metalworking and other production industries.

In a statement released by the company, ThyssenKrupp said that the new unit was already represented in the region through companies in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Commenting on the establishment of the service company in Russia, Stefan Klebert, head of ThyssenKrupp's Industrial Services business unit, said, "Setting up this subsidiary is a move patterned on our policy of following customers wherever they need us. At the same time, it is one more proactive step in market penetration and expansion efforts."

Mr. Klebert added, "We will continue to flexibly address the Central and the Eastern European market developments and expand our services network to match customer needs."
