Thailand might raise the duty on pipe imports again
Having lowered the import duty rate on steel pipes down to 1% from 15%, Thai Government is receiving complaints from the local producers. The local producers are concerned about the increase in the cheaper imports of this product upon the lowering of the duty rate. The Thai Stainless Steel Development Association recently warned the government that such situation might cause a serious financial injury in the form of high numbers of loss in revenue. Sources from the Thai Government hinted that the matter is currently being reconsidered, however it might take some time before coming to a conclusion.Thailand might raise the duty on pipe imports again
