Turkish
galvanized steelmaker Tezcan Galvanizli Yapı Elemanlari San.Ve Tic A.S. (Tezcan) is continuing full steam ahead in its current phase of serious investment.
After investing in two cold rolling lines of total annual capacity of 700,000 in the first half of 2006, Tezcan is now able to produce the full hard coil required to supply its existing 350,000 tons per annum capacity galvanizing line. The company has thus ensured its greater independence regarding raw material supply. In addition, Tezcan has also established an integrated structure with a 700.000 tons per annum HRP
production capacity cleaning line and 350.000 tons per annum cold rolled
production capacity annealing furnaces. The tempered cold rolling line with 400,000 tons per annum capacity - currently under
construction and expected to be commissioned at the end of 2006 - will also enable Tezcan to market cold rolled products with desired surface finishing, fulfilling the requirements of Turkish industry.
Within the scope of the
investments focused on the above-mentioned integration, the company will increase its pre-painted sheet
production capacity to 100.000 tons per annum. Meanwhile,
construction is continuing on the new painting line with a planned annual capacity of 80,000, which is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2007.
Also, with the second continuous galvanizing line - the
construction of which is underway and is due to be commissioned in mid-2008 - Tezcan's
galvanized sheet
production capacity will increase to 700.000 tons per annum.
Within the scope of the new
investments at the existing facilities in Arslanbey,
Turkey, there will also be a new steel service center with increased capacity.
