Latin America-focused steelmaker Ternium saw its net revenues in Q4 rise 16 percent, year-on-year, to $1.3 billion, the company said while releasing its quarterly results.
Ternium’s total revenues in Q4 totaled $2.6 billion, 43 percent up, year-on-year. Revenues for the company’s Southern region market in Q4 grew 24 percent, year-on-year, to $619.9 million.
As for the full year of 2017, Ternium’s revenues in Mexico grew 20 percent, year-on-year, to $5.3 billion.
Ternium said steel sales volumes in Mexico rose 3 percent, year-on-year, in 2017 to 6.6 million mt, while the Southern region’s sale volumes increased 11 percent in the same period to 2.4 million mt.
“Shipments and prices increased year-over-year in Mexico and the Southern region. In other markets, shipments increased and revenue per ton decreased, despite higher prices, due to the consolidation of Ternium Brasil,” the company said.
