Ternium Mexico awarded environmental certification

Mexican steelmaker Ternium Mexico was awarded a “green” certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the North American institution said. The Mexican steel producer was one of the recipients of the 2019 Greenbuild Leadership Awards in Mexico.

“Ternium Mexico…has committed to LEED certification for all of its projects,” said USGBC.

The LEED certification is a is “green building” certification program used worldwide.

“Ternium’s 2018 Environmental and Energy Policy formally integrates energy efficiency concepts and establishes the principles for the implementation of energy efficiency management systems for all of the company’s production units,” USGBC said.
