Tenova HYL to supply DRI plant for Sinosteel project in Bolivia

Italian engineering group Tenova has announced that its subsidiary in Mexico, Tenova HYL, will supply a direct reduced iron (DRI) plant to China-based Sinosteel Equipment and Technology for its project in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

According to the company statement, Tenova HYL’s direct reduction technology will be used in the first stage of the project, including a DRI plant with a capacity of 250,000 mt per year, a concentration plant with a capacity of 650,000 mt per year, a pelletizing facility with a capacity of 400,000 mt per year, and a steel plant with a continuous caster and rolling mill with an annual capacity of 190,000 mt of long products.
