Mexican steelmaker Tenaris announced this week that for the fifth consecutive time, the Mexican government recognized Tenaris’s mill in Veracruz, Mexico for its environmentally friendly actions. Tenaris received the Clean Industry certification in January in a ceremony attended by Veracruz Governor Javier Duarte and other authorities.

The Clean Industry certification is part of a federal environmental audit program. The awards were presented to Tenaris and 13 other companies that operate in the Veracruz area.

During the ceremony, Governor Duarte highlighted the importance of recognizing the companies that meet environmental rules in the region.

Sergio de la Maza, Tenaris Central American Area Manager, said that “This certification consolidates our commitment to the protection of the environment and sustainable development, so that our resources can benefit both present and future generations.”
