Tata Steel’s finished steel output up 11 percent in September quarter

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that in the second quarter ended September 30 of the financial year 2017-18 its finished steel production at its Indian facilities increased by 11 percent year on year to 3.02 million mt, while its finished steel sales totaled 3.13 million mt, rising by 19.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter, Tata Steel’s finished production at its European facilities declined by three percent to 2.60 million mt and finished steel sales reached 2.60 million mt, up 15 percent, both on year-on-year basis.

The company stated that the increase in its overall steel deliveries in the given period reflects the stable market conditions and its improved finishing processes.
