Tata Steel’s crude steel output rises in October-December

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that its crude steel output for the third quarter ending December 31 of the financial year 2014-15 amounted to 2.3 million mt, increasing by 5.6 percent year on year. The company's liquid pig iron output in the given period was 2.4 million mt, up 2.8 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

During the October-December period, Tata Steel's finished steel output increased by 3.3 percent to 2.21 million mt, while its sales volume was up 3.05 percent, standing at 2.13 million mt, both year on year.

In the third financial quarter, Tata Steel achieved a record third quarter wire rod production volume of 110,000 mt, while its steel bar production volume of 229,000 mt also constituted an all-time record for a third quarter.
