Tata Steel India achieves highest-ever annual finished steel sales in FY 2017-18

Indian steelmaker Tata Steel India has announced that its finished steel output for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2017-18 ending March 31 amounted to 3.02 million mt, falling by 3.5 percent year on year. In the given quarter, the company’s finished steel sales totaled three million mt, down 6.25 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Meanwhile, in the full financial year 2017-18, the company's finished steel output increased by eight percent year on year to 12.26 million mt, while in the same period, Tata Steel achieved its highest-ever annual finished steel sales of 12.13 million mt, rising by 10.5 percent year on year, driven by best-ever annual sales in the automotive sector.
