Tangsteel steps up its finished steel export activity in Feb

On March 25, Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group (HBIS) announced that its Hebei-based subsidiary Tangshan Iron and Steel Co. (Tangsteel) exported 223,700 mt of finished steel in February this year, up by 72 percent compared to the average monthly volume in 2012 and constituting the highest monthly figure in recent years.
 
Accordingly, in February this year Tangsteel exported 110,400 mt of cold rolled coil (CRC) as well as 70,600 mt of hot rolled coil (HRC), which is nearly double the average monthly HRC export volume in 2012.
 
Meanwhile, another Hebei Steel Group subsidiary, Chengde Iron and Steel Co., recently produced 500 mt of HRB 500L rebar, the first time it has produced such of volume of this product since 2009, mostly for application in a high-speed railway project.
