Tangshan to implement production restrictions in March-September

The municipal government of Tangshan in China’s Hebei Province has announced that, in order to lower air pollution and improve air quality, it has decided to implement production restriction measures during the period from March 1 to September 30, 2019, divided into two stages, with the first stage extending from March 1 to March 31, and the second stage from April 1 to September 30.

In particular, sintering machines of steelmakers who do not bear any responsibility for supplying heating will work at 50 percent capacity from March 1 to March 31.

From April 1 to September 30, Tangshan will be divided into two areas for the purposes of production restrictions. Accordingly, area one includes Lunan district, Lubei district, Kaiping district, Guye district, Fengnan district, Qian’an district, Luanzhou city, Luannan county, Leting Couty, Caofeidian and Seaport development zone, while area two includes the high-tech industrial development zone, Fengrun district, Zunhua city, Qianxi county, Yutian county, Lutai economic and technological development zone and Hangu administrative district.

In April, August and September, sintering machines in area two will halt 50 percent of their capacity, and blast furnaces in this area will continue to meet the same requirements as for the winter season, while, in May, June and July, sintering machines in area one will halt 50 percent of their capacity, and blast furnaces in this area will continue to meet the same requirements as for the winter season.
