The ecological protection department of Tangshan in China’s Hebei Province has announced that from December 13 to December 31 it will halt production operations of sintering machines and pelletizing equipment that fail to achieve ultra-low emissions, during which time the facilities in question will have to reduce their emissions.

During the period from December 7 to December 12, steelmakers will need to make submissions to the ecological protection department and to complete site acceptance tests. If they fail to meet required standards in tests, the steelmakers will have to halt production operations of sintering machines and pelletizing equipment and reduce emissions in the period from December 13 to December 31.
