Tangshan issues draft steel production plan for winter season

The key Chinese steelmaking city of Tangshan has issued its draft production plan for the coming winter season, i.e., for the period from October 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019, stating that it will classify local steelmakers according to categories A, B, C and D based on emissions standards, transport structure and added-value of products, verified and assessed at the premises of the steelmakers.

During the winter season, steelmakers of category A will not need implement production cuts; category B steelmakers will halt 30 percent of production, category C steelmakers will cut production by 50 percent, category D steelmakers will reduce production by 70 percent, while sintering machines will have to suspend production completely.
