Tangshan extends its emergency air pollution measures

The municipal government of Tangshan in China’s Hebei Province has announced its decision to continue to implement emergency emissions reduction measures aimed at tackling air pollution effective from 00:00 on October 19, thereby continuing the emergency measures which were to have ended at 24:00 on October 18. The emergency measures will remain in effect until further notice is given.

The measures in question include 50 percent production cuts at sintering machines and shaft furnaces at steelmakers across the city.
