Tangshan Donghai Steel Group issues capacity replacement details

Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Donghai Steel Group has issued the capacity replacement details relating to a new 1,650 cubic meter blast furnace due to be built by the steel producer in Luan county, Hebei Province, and its planned elimination of one 1,080 cubic meter blast furnace and one 680 cubic meter blast furnace in Tangshan city, Hebei Province.

Accordingly, the new 1,650 cubic meter furnace will have an annual steelmaking capacity of 1.423 million mt, with construction starting in March 2019 and due to be completed in December 2020, replacing the other two blast furnaces which had a total combined annual steelmaking capacity of 1.779 million mt.
