Taiwan’s steel export value down 10.4 percent in October

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, in October this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.5 billion, decreasing by 10.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and stable month on month.

In the first 10 months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 7.2 percent from the same period last year, amounting to $15.1 billion.

Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2012 Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 13.6 percent compared to the same period of last year to $10.56 billion. In October alone, the country's import value for iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 8.9 percent year on year to $1 million.
