Taiwan’s iron and steel exports up 35.9 percent in January

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance on February 8, in January Taiwan's iron and steel exports increased by 35.9 percent to $1.27 billion, while its metal product exports, excluding machinery, rose by 74.5 percent to $762.9 million, both compared to January 2009.

On the other hand, Taiwan's iron and steel imports in January totaled $844.4 million and its metal product imports amounted to $864.9 million. The year-on-year increase rates were 126.5 percent and 206.3 percent respectively.
