Taiwan’s CSC posts decrease in June steel output

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in June this year its steel production volume totaled 709,802 metric tons, decreasing by 7.3 percent compared to May and down 2.4 year on year. In the first half of the current year, CSC's steel production volume totaled 4,331,355 mt, down 3.1 percent compared with the first half of the previous year.

In June, CSC's steel product sales volume amounted to 735,773 metric tons, down 10.3 percent compared to the previous month and down 5.8 compared to June 2011. In the first half of the current year, the steel product sales volume of CSC totaled 4,486,784 mt, down 3.8 percent year on year.

In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 17.05 billion ($568.53 million), down by 12.7 percent month on month and down 17.7 percent year on year.  In the first half, the sales revenue of CSC totaled  NTD 107.80 billion ($ 3.6 billion) down 10.2 percent year on year.
