Taiwan's basic metal output up 3.46 percent in Jan-Nov

Taiwan's industrial production index in November this year decreased by 0.12 percent as compared to November 2012 and was down 2.34 percent month on month, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, the country's seasonally adjusted industrial production index in November increased 0.21 percent compared to the same month of 2012.
 
In the first 11 months of the year, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 0.41 percent year on year.
 
In November this year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing increased by 2.93 percent and output of metal product manufacturing increased by 5.93 percent, both compared with November 2012. In addition, in November of the current year the basic metal manufacturing sector saw a 2.33 percent increase in output and the metal product manufacturing sector saw a 0.79 percent decrease in output, on month-on-month basis. In the first 11 months of 2013, a 3.46 percent year-on-year increase was recorded in Taiwan's basic metal manufacturing output, while the fabricated metal product output index indicated an increase of 1.41 percent compared to January-November 2012.
 
Meanwhile, in November this year production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry fell by 0.57 percent, output in the automotive industry increased by 3.67 percent, while production in the Taiwanese construction sector decreased by 22.26 percent, all year on year.
