According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in August this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.45 billion, up 19.1 percent compared to August last year and rising by 8.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In the January-August period of the current year, the country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders rose by 16 percent year on year to $17.57 billion.
