Taiwan’s basic metal export orders down 23.2 percent in Feb

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in February this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $1.9 billion, decreasing by 23.1 percent compared to the previous month and down 23.2 percent compared to February 2012. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders rose by 11.5 percent and 1.1 percent in January and December 2012 respectively, both on year-on-year basis.

The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first two months of the current year amounted to a value of $4.3 billion, falling by 6.8 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
