Taiwan-based CSC’s steel output decreases in 2012

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in December last year its steel production volume totaled 680,287 metric tons, down five percent month on month and up eight percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In 2012, CSC produced 8.4 million mt of steel, down three percent compared to 2011.
 
In December, CSC's sales volume was 725,437 metric tons, decreasing by two percent as compared to November and rising by three percent year on year. CSC's sales volume for the whole year decreased to 8.8 million mt, down three percent year on year.
 
In December last year, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 14.57 billion ($502.2 million), down two percent month on month and decreasing by 16 percent year on year. In 2012, the sales revenues of the company totaled NTD 201.072 billion ($8,08 billion), decreasing by 14 percent year on year.
