Taigang Stainless Steel receives certification from API

Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taigang Stainless Steel Co., a subsidiary of Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., has announced that it has received three certificates, including API Spec Q1 for petroleum and chemical quality management system, Spec 5CT forOTCG casing and Spec 5LC for wear-resistant alloy pipe steel, according to which the company can produce oil casing and wear-resistant alloy pipe steel in line with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards.
 
To date, Taigang has started production of certain high-end OTCG casings, such as S13Cr-2, N08028 and S32205 duplex steel, while the company is also developing production of advanced OTCG casing, such as 825, G3, C276 and super-duplex stainless.
 
API certification provides an opportunity for Taigang’s stainless steel seamless pipes to enter the oil and gas sector both in China and worldwide.
