Australia-based miner Sundance Resources, which is developing the Mbalam project in Cameroon, has reported initial drilling results at the Nabeba deposit of the project.
Sundance's majority-owned subsidiary Congo Iron SA is advancing resource definition drilling at the Nabeba deposit, which lies 42 km south of the Mbarga deposit, with a total of 19 drill holes completed to date.
According to on-site analysis, significant thicknesses of high grade hematite have been intersected in the majority of holes drilled, with iron grades in excess of 60 percent.
Sundance CEO Don Lewis observed that the new results support the potential to define a substantial resource at Nabeba in line with the company's exploration target of 100 to 250 million mt of Hematite grading from 55 percent to 65 percent Fe, adding that the company is to buy its fourth drill rig.
