Sumitomo Metals’ Thai Sumilox halts operations due to floods in Thailand

Japan-based steelmaker Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd (Sumitomo Metals) has announced that its consolidated subsidiary Thai Sumilox Company, Ltd. (Thai Sumilox) has suspended its operations due to the floods in Thailand.
 
Thai Sumilox located in Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya Province processes and sells electromagnetic steel sheets used for electric motors. The operations have been suspended because of an evacuation order. Sumitomo Metals stated that its other three subsidiaries in Thailand are not affected.
