According to Stratfor, a geopolitics intelligence platform from an Austin, Texas based company, the US-led global trade offensive will lead to “retaliation and associated repercussions to primarily shape international affairs in the second quarter of 2018.”

According to its forecast model, in the second quarter of 2018, global trade issues will be heavily driven by geopolitics including rising US-China tensions, further degradation of the world’s arms control treaties, debate over eurozone reforms, rising US trade tensions with Brazil, and an opportunity for stronger US-India relations.
