Steel prices in Hebei Province soften in October from September levels

In October this year, average finished steel product prices in China’s Hebei Province decreased compared to the price levels recorded in September, according to the latest data issued by Hebei Province’s Commodity Price Bureau. 

In particular, in October average prices in Hebei Province of round bar, rebar and wire rod were recorded at RMB 4,254/mt ($641.6/mt), RMB 3,998/mt ($603.1/mt) and RMB 4,273/mt ($644.5/mt), declining by 0.9 percent, 1.4 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively, all compared to prices in September this year. Although the average prices of finished steel in October decreased on month-on-month basis, they still indicated year-on-year rises in the range of 52.5 percent to 68 percent.
