Steel exports from Tangshan rise sharply in January

Steel producers based in the city of Tangshan in the northeastern Chinese province of Hebei saw a sharp increase in their exports of steel products in January this year.

In January, Tangshan Iron and Steel Group exported $13.55 million worth of steel products - increasing by 212.2 percent year on year, Hebei Jinxi Steel's exports amounted to a value of $12.32 million, up by 356.3 percent year on year, while Tangshan Hongzhong Iron and Steel's exports for the month in question reached a value of $10.08 million, rising by 447.8 percent compared to January 2009.
