Stable growth in China’s value-added industrial output in steel in Dec

In December last year, value-added industrial output in the ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector in China rose by 10.7 percent year on year, the same as the increase rate recorded in November, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

China's overall value-added industrial output increased by 6.9 percent year on year in December last year, with this growth rate 0.7 percentage points higher compared to that recorded in November, according to the same source.

In December last year, of the 41 industrial sectors in China, 33 witnessed year-on-year increases in value-added industrial output. Outputs in the mining and manufacturing sectors grew by 5.6 percent and 7.0 percent, down 0.1 percentage point and up 0.7 percentage points respectively from the growth rates recorded in November.

In 2019, China's overall value-added industrial output increased by 5.7 percent year on year, 0.5 percentage points slower than the increase recorded in 2018.
