South Korea scrap imports for January-November

According to the South Korea’s Customs Department, South Korea imported 5.31 million mt of scrap in the January-November 2017 period, making the country the world’s second largest ferrous scrap importer after Turkey.

During the period, South Korea imported ferrous scrap from Japan (3.52 million mt), Russia (900,000 mt), the United States (450,000 mt), China (100,000 mt), New Zealand (60,000 mt), the United Kingdom (40,000 mt), and other countries (240,000 mt). New Zealand increased its imports into South Korea in October and November.
