South Africa’s base metal export value up 4.8 percent in Jan-Nov

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in November last year the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 14 billion ($1.13 billion), up 18.6 percent from October. In the first 11 months of the year, South Africa's export value of base metals and articles thereof increased by 4.8 percent year on year to ZAR 128.52 billion ($10.41 billion). 

In November last year, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 5.14 billion ($416.41 million), increasing 3.7 percent from the previous month, while in the January-November period of the year South African imports of base metals and articles thereof fell by 1.2 percent year on year, amounting to ZAR 54.86 billion ($4.44 billion).
