Chinese steelmaker Fuzhou Wuhang, located in the Changle district of Fuzhou, has recently placed an order with German plantmaker SMS Group for the upgrade of its rebar mill with thermomechanical rolling technology. Fuzhou Wuhang aims to respond to the increasing demand for quality products in the market and cut production costs.
The new line will be designed for an annual production of 700,000 mt of rebar in a diameter range of 10-18 millimeters at a maximum rolling speed of 45 meters per second and the possibility to produce rounds in the 14-20 millimeter range. SMS Group will supply all key equipment including the electrics and the automation package. The plant is scheduled to be started up by mid-2019.
