SMS Demag receives billet caster from Riva

Italian producer Riva has ordered a three(four)-strand CONVEX® billet caster from Concast, a part of the Metallurgical Plant and Rolling Mill Technology Business Area of the SMS group, to be installed at its Caronno Pertusella works. The cast sizes of the billet caster are 200 x 200 and 260 x 260 mm (in the future 300 mm round). The steel grades processed will include carbon and alloyed steels for the production of forgings and automotive parts, boron steels, spring steels and free-cutting steels. The new caster is scheduled to be operational by mid-July 2007.
