Commissioners from the Port of Longview were expected to sign a lease Friday that would award New Jersey-based structural steel distributor Skyline Steel a 35-acre parcel.

The proposed lease includes plans for IDM Longview LLC to construct the building and sublet to Skyline, whose distribution and manufacturing of various structural steel products such as beams, piling and pipe would likely boost breakbulk cargoes at the Washington state-based port.

Skyline Steel is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ArcelorMittal, and there has been talk lately of the Luxembourg-based steel giant setting up a distribution base for steel beams in the US through Skyline.
