Sichuan cuts 1.145 million mt of low-grade construction steel capacity in 2017

China’s Sichuan Province eliminated 1.145 million mt of low-grade construction steel in 2017, as announced by Sichuan Economic and Information Technology Committee. In 2016, Sichuan Province had already achieved its target of eliminating 4.2 million mt of outdated steel capacity for the 2016-20 period, while it has continued to eliminate steel capacity. 

In 2017, Sichuan Province eliminated 10.0 million mt of illegal steel capacity.
