The municipal authorities in Shijiazhuang in China’s Hebei Province have issued a comprehensive air pollution control work plan for 2019, stating that the city’s average PM2.5 concentration will be cut by seven percent to 67 micrograms per cubic meter in 2019 as compared to 2018, as reported by official media sources in Hebei Province.

Meanwhile, Shijiazhuang also plans to eliminate 2.6 million mt of cement production capacity, 480,000 mt of iron-smelting capacity and 500,000 mt of coke capacity by the end of 2019. At the same time, Shijiazhuang will implement 24-hour remote monitoring for outdated capacity, to prevent closed and eliminated equipment from being put into production again.
