Shawan Stainless Industrial Park attracts 51 steelmakers

Shawan Stainless Industrial Park, located in Leshan in China's Sichuan Province, has now attracted a total of 51 steelmakers to established operations in the park, while its total outputs of stainless blooms, stainless hot rolled steel coil and stainless cold rolled steel products in 2012 amounted to 600,000 mt, 2 million mt and 377,000 mt respectively, with the park now constituting a key stainless steel production base in western China, as reported by Sichuan Economic Daily on May 31.

The industrial park in question is a part of Shawan Metallurgical Building Materials Industrial Park, which also includes a vanadium-titanium recycling park. In 2012, Shawan Metallurgical Building Materials Industrial Park achieved sales revenue totaling RMB 20 billion ($3.26 billion), with sales revenue expected to reach RMB 50 billion ($8.16 billion) in 2015 and RMB 100 billion ($16.31 billion) in 2018.
