Ying Yong, mayor of Shanghai, announced on January 8 that Shanghai plans to invest RMB 150 billion ($21.6 billion) in 49 key projects in 2020, which will be the highest annual investment level since 2010 when Shanghai held the World Expo.
These investments will boost the demand for steel used in construction.
