Shanghai Steel Tube sees strong exports increase

SteelOrbis Shanghai Due to the further tightening of its cooperation with Baosteel Steel Tube Plant, Shanghai Steel Tube Co. Ltd. has seen both a brilliant improvement in its product structure and a good increase in its production capability. The company has also seen remarkable sales of high value-added goods to overseas markets. In 2006, Shanghai Steel Tube Co. Ltd. exported high value-added products to US, Germany, South Korea, India, Thailand, UAE, Brazil, and Turkey. By the end of November, the mill's tube exports totaled more than 4,300 mt, with high value-added products accounting for 70 percent of this figure. In the meantime, Shanghai Steel Tube has also accelerated its steps in quality control and product inspection. In 2006, the company passed the examinations and auditing tests carried out by several foreign companies, including companies from US, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Australia, India, and Belgium.
